  1. I hope it's compatible with the gattling...

  2. Eva-style religious symbolism?

    1. Where the hell do you get religious symbolism from that shield?

    2. Really?!?! It's obviouse...

    3. I'm not seeing it either.

    4. It...really isn't. If you mean the side-spikes that give it a vaguely and I mean VAGUELY cross-like shape...I still think you're looking too much into it.

      Delete
    5. Well... theres no "practical" reason why a shield should be cross shaped other than rule of cool.

    6. The RX-78-2 EFSF Shield was more religious themed.

    7. Model wise it looks normal. I guess its just the artwork that made it look kinda eva-ish hehe.

    8. It actually looked like upside down Zeon insignia

  3. who knows, i hope thats in the anime, Maybe thats why there is a different desgin for the banshee

  4. Sooo...Aside from being a massive shield, what does it do?

    1. Joking options :

      1. Tons of plastics causing more damage to the already unhealthy environment

      2. Additional weapons system to the Red frame Kai & 00 7-swords, making a gigantic combo of unnecessary weight issues

      3. A GPB dream comes true : with FA Unicorn & νver Ka. weapons, You can actually build a MS only with the accesories, which will be looks terribly ugly, may this user add.

      4. Like to see how the final results turns out hanging in the Christmas tree

    2. well, anon above me really has a sense of joke

  7. Very interesting. I wonder what two of them would look like on the arms of the FA Unicorn.

  8. does it shoot funnels to reduce the mass?
    'cuz it looks ugly.

  9. This is the one that should have been on Unicorn Full Armor's back.

  10. Banshee's Armed armor VN was Vibration Nails, BS was Beam Smart gun, what's this DE thing then?

    1. has a built in beam cannon

    2. It must be "Destroy Everything"

      Delete
    3. "Deflector Enhanced" maybe ? since it's technically Unicorn's
Original Shield with additional upper platings and functions (cannons & thrusters)

    4. Defense engager

  11. hmm.. why do i get the feeling that this is the "armament" sitting on the back of the "secret" new HGUC Banshee ?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Design wise this takes away from the great design of the unicorn. It's just bulk for the sake of bulk and looks out of place and far too desperate. Also it reinforces the magic super robot aspect of the Gundam which I feel is a very big no no in the UC cannon.

    1. Have you seen zeta at all? Remember the magical aura they emmitted? Magic is not really exclusive to AU gundams..

You are a failure of an UC eletist

      Delete
    2. You do know Gundam IS a "super robot" show, right???

      Delete
    3. I don't really think OP's comment entails that he's an elitist. He's arguing that the UC has a certain level realism and conservative design that fans appreciate it for, and the DE is a step away from that. I'll have to agree with the OP, actually, but it all depends on how they deal with it in the storyline.

    4. Gundam has always been more of a hybrid show than exclusively real robot. Realism seems to apply more to grunts than then titular machine which is more often than not a super prototype. Personally, as long as there's a in-universe explanation of how tech works such as the DE or any other super robot gimmick then I don't see a problem.

  13. so you need a shield to put this on? or do you get the parts for a unicorn shield aswell?

    1. I'm not sure, but I would bet that the former is the case.

  14. I'm curious what color will the final clear pieces be? Pure clear, aqua, pinkish red?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's clear, to be painted any color you want. It says on top it's compatible with all versions of the RX-0 kit (banshee, FA, Ka, etc) so that would be the only reasonable conclusion (unless each color of psycho frame were to be included, which I find highly unlikely).

      Delete
  15. Looks like the clear plastic will be pink.
God damn it, Bandai pandering to the lazy "modellers" ruins my plans to use it on my Novel ver Banshee.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Could you base coat in chrome silver and add clear green or any other color over that?

      Delete
    2. You could, but it would take away the "clear effect" of the plastic. I don´t care if it comes pink and as you said, give it a base coat of silver and another of any color (green, yellow)

      Delete
    3. You could always dye it, instead of complaining about Bandai's tactic of pursuing more casual modelers.

      Delete
    4. Dye it? Can you please provide a link i have never heard of dyeing and would like to know how to do it.

      Thank you in advance.

  17. It say's it can be attached to the MG 1/100 Sinanju Stein Ver. Ka. My question is how does it attach?

  18. Ok so the original unicorn shield has an i-field generator that activates when changing to NtD mode. Why would the unicorn need a much bigger shield instead of a battery of sorts that allows the i-field to last longer??? This new shield looks ok but feels a bit like more bulk for the sake of bulk.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It amplifies the current i-field strength and the added bulk is also useful for stopping physical munitions which i-fields cant stop.

      Delete
  19. I can see the unicorn destroy mode arm collapsing...especially if you'll add this as the shield of the FA unicorn in both arms...

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'll have to give Kinokuniya a call for pre-ordering this book+kit.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I can see it now...towards the end of Gundam UC episode 7 a familiar mobile suit appears. Nu Gundam with full psychoframe and armed armor DE to the rescue! Or something...
